The curriculum at Montessori School of Los Altos is founded on the classic Montessori practices and principles and aims to foster the fulfillment of each child's potential in a beautiful and supportive environment. All children receive lessons in the core areas of language, mathematics, geography, science, practical life, and sensorial development. Lessons in grace and courtesy, participation in group discussions, and learning to work as a team are also part of the education your child will receive. In addition, we incorporate computers into the classrooms where we feature Montessori software, compatible with the overall educational goals of our program. Your child's development is rounded out with lessons in art appreciation and hands on practice in many media; movement and dance, rhythm, song and an introduction to musical instruments as well as the chance to participate in many cultural activities and celebrations reflecting our diverse parent community. French, Mandarin and Spanish language classes taught by native speakers are also offered; being introduced to a second or third language at this young age gives your child a strong foundation on which to build additional language skills. Your child will thrive in our program, and will graduate well prepared for their next level of education. Contact us to join a tour of our campuses; we look forward to meeting you. |
